"Every athlete has a unique set of skills, strengths, and weaknesses. I'm passionate about identifying these traits and utilizing them to allow athletes to reach their full potential both physically and mentally!
Shawn has had a passion for sports his whole life. After his playing days as a high school football player ended, he went on to pursue an athletic training degree at Frostburg State University. As a student athletic trainer he gained hands on experience with collegiate athletes across a multitude of sports and platforms including, strength and conditioning. He fell in love with building relationships and training athletes to become stronger, faster, and better all around.
After receiving his Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in February 2016, he quickly began training athletes along with taking his current Fitness Specialist position at Bayada Home Health Care. In June 2016, he joined Pappas and Court Prowess Basketball. He continues to evolve his knowledge of athlete performance training and is finishing up his masters in Health Administration through St. Joes University.
To follow his passion, Shawn transferred to the University of Maryland to pursue a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology. After graduating he took a job out of college as a Physical Therapist Technician at Drayer, where he was able to work with and learn a great deal about local High School and College athletes bodies throughout the injury recovery process. During this time he also prepared himself to become certified as Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He immediately put what he was learning to work, developing custom workout routines and programs for himself and close friends.
